When the Draw Shape Annotation mceclip27.png tool is selected the following options are displayed

Draw a line – draws free hand shapes

Draw an arrow – draws an arrows

Draw an ellipse – draws ellipses (ovals, circles)

Draw a rectangle – draws rectangles

Draw Line, Arrow, ellipse, rectangle

  1. Draw a line – draws free hand shapes

    1. Select the tool
    2. Move mouse to the starting position
    3. Click and hold the left mouse button down
    4. With left mouse button down draw shape using mouse
    5. When finished release left mouse button
    6. Repeat steps 1b to 1e if further lines are required
    7. When finished de-select the tool

  2. Draw an arrow – draws an arrow

    1. Select the tool

    2. Move mouse to where the arrowhead is to be located

    3. Click and hold the left mouse button down

    4. With left mouse button down draw the arrow using mouse

    5. When finished release left mouse button

    6. Repeat steps 2b to 2e if further arrows are required

    7. When finished de-select the tool

  3. Draw an Ellipse - draws ellipses (ovals, circles)

    1. Select the tool

    2. Move mouse to the starting point of the shape

    3. Click and hold the left mouse button down

    4. With left mouse button down draw the required shape

    5. When finished release left mouse button

      1. Area is the area of the shape – this uses the images resolution, so accuracy is dependent on the accuracy of the resolution

      2. Mean is mean or average Hounsfield Units for the area

      3. Std Dev. is Standard Deviation of the Hounsfield Units for the area

    6. Repeat steps 3b. to 3e. if further ellipses are required

    7. When finished de-select the tool

  4. Draw a rectangle -  Used to draw rectangular shapes

    1. Select the tool

    2. Move mouse to the starting point of the shape

    3. Click and hold the left mouse button down

    4. With left mouse button down draw the required shape

    5. When finished release left mouse button

      1. Area: the area of the shape – this uses the images resolution, so accuracy is dependent on the accuracy of the resolution
